About Jessica Duhay
Jessica is a sweet 14 year old high school freshman from Chula Vista, CA. Her love for the art of singing is what keeps her active in the music scene. In school, she participates in the school’s show choir which gives her a chance to improve not only her singing ability but her movements in dancing as well. From the early age of 8 when she started taking voice lessons up to now, she is very much visible in shows all over Southern California, local shows here in San Diego and as far as Los Angeles and neighboring cities. She feels so blessed that she believes by sharing her talent in singing, she is giving back to the community whatever God has given her. That same reason why she gets invited to sing at charitable and fund raising events, social functions and humanitarian projects. In 2012, she was awarded as a recipient of the Fil-Am Youth Achiever’s Award for her achievement in academics and in singing by the FIl-Am humanitarian foundation. She is now a founding officer of the same non-profit organization that helps raise funds for indigent people in the Philippines. She received numerous certificate of recognition from dignitaries, political figures and presidents of different organizations because of her community service.
In the later part of 2012, she became the Singing Champ when she won the competition of her age category. This is one of her best achievements in the art of singing which entitled her to record an original composition as part of her prize. Her CD is now released which has 4 all original love songs written in English and Tagalog by composer SJ Gandia. She has also performed and
open shows with such legendary artist like Stephen Bishop, and Filipino artists like Juris Fernandez, Richard Poon, Aiza Seguerra, Billy Crawford, Nikki Gil, Iya Villana, Dessa, Carol Banawa, Mark Bautista, Sam Milby, Piolo Pascual, Angeline Quinto and a lot more. She loves to sing ballad-pop songs where she can put her heart and soul in her singing. She has garnered some beauty titles such as Little Ms Philippines-Universe of 2011 (2ndrunner up), Ms American Starlet Regional Queen of 2011, Ms Teen Fiesta Filipiniana of 2012, Ms Teen Philippines-San Diego of 2013.
In the past year, she trained to be a model under the coaching of veteran model Emilia Rapinan. She modeled runway for talented designers like Kenneth Barlis and Jessica Faulkner. She likewise became interested in print modeling and as such have posed for different professional photographers. Last October of 2013, she got in to be a “Bench” model for their first ever fashion show here in the US. Her goal is to be walking in the runway for different big agencies in LA and New York. She aspires to be a successful singer and model. At her young age, she is blossoming to become what she dreams to be. Her hardwork and dedication plus her passion will get her to where she wants to be someday.
